Redstone: Part 1

What is Redstone?
Redstone is used to transmit a signal that powers up things. With a press of button, you can send up fireworks, open doors, send messages, kill mobs, etc.
There are many items in Minecraft that emit, transmit and use Redstone signals. Redstone Dust, a material, is used to transmit signals. But you can transmit power without redstone dust too. Just place a button beside a door, then press it. It is opened! But Redstone Dust is required to go above that, such as pressing a button and opening a door 10 blocks away.
How to find Redstone Dust? Mining! Redstone Ore, when mined, gives Redstone Dust. Ores are most commonly found in Y Level 10 to 15. From my experience, Redstone ore is the most common ore in these coordinates. Mine some redstone. Each ore will drop some Redstone dust. With this, you can craft a lot of redstone components such as Observers, Dispensers, Repeaters, Comparators, Rails, Droppers, etc.
We will see the use of Redstone Dust and Redstone Components in the coming parts.
